clicker 2 for PIC18FK is a compact PIC18 development kit with two mikroBUS™ sockets for click board connectivity. It carries an 8-bit PIC18F67K40 microcontroller from Microchip offering up to 64 MHz operation with 16 MIPS, with a built-in USB-UART bootloader that makes it easy to program.
Everything you need to get started
The board features everything you need to get started: a PIC18F67K40 microcontroller, micro USB connector, two mikroBUS™ sockets, two LEDs and push buttons, reset button and headers for interfacing with external electronics.
PIC18F67K40 microcontroller
PIC18F67K40 is a 64-Pin, low-power, high-performance microcontroller with XLP technology. Equipped with a 10-bit ADC with Computation (ADCC) automating Capacitive Voltage Divider (CVD) techniques for advanced touch sensing, averaging, filtering, oversampling and performing automatic threshold comparisons.
The new PIC18F K-series are now the highest performance members of the PIC18F family offering up to 64 MHz operation with 16 MIPS. Operating range of 1.8 to 3.6 volts with 100K write endurance and 40 year retention typical for both Flash and Data EEPROM memory.
The microcontroller has three power saving modes: Doze mode, Sleep mode and Idle mode.
The PIC18F67K40 has 128 KB FLASH program memory with self-read/write capability, 3568 bytes of data SRAM memory and 1024 bytes of EEPROM.
Hundreds of possibilities with click boards™
Take advantage of the constantly expanding range of over 350 click boards™ - the onboard mikroBUS™ sockets allows you to add new functionality to your project. Each click board™ comes with a set of working example code.
Choose two clicks that suit your project the most, and you’re half-way done. Have fun and play, mix and match.
Power Management
clicker 2 for PIC18FK features LTC®3586, a highly integrated power management and battery charger IC that includes a current limited switching PowerPath manager. LTC®3586 also enables battery charging over a USB connection.
You can supply power to the board with a micro USB cable provided in the package. On-board voltage regulators provide the appropriate voltage levels to each component on the board.
Programming
To make your prototyping experience as convenient as possible, clicker 2 for PIC18FK is preprogrammed with a UART bootloader. Just download our mikroBootloader application and you’re ready to upload your firmware. MikroProg for PIC, dsPIC and PIC32 connector enables programming through external programmer/debugger.
For more information see our Learn article about Bootloaders.
You can also use the XPRESS bootloader from Microchip that allows for easy drag and drop programming.
